How to Use Your Pre-cut Images:
If you ordered precut images, you received a full sheet where each image has been precisely cut out with a laser; cuts may not be very noticeable at first glance.
To use them, you have a couple of options:
Peel Image by Image:
Gently lift each image from the top or edge to release it from the backing sheet.
OR
Peel from the Backing Sheet:
Carefully lift a corner of the clear backing sheet itself. This will leave the precut images on the laminate sheet, making them easier to pick up individually.
Either method works; it’s just a matter of what feels easier for you!
How to Cut Your Images (If You Ordered Them with NO LASER CUT OUT):
If your images came uncut, follow these steps to prep them:
Remove the Backing:
Carefully peel off the clear plastic backing from the sheet before cutting.
Cut with Tools: Use scissors or an X-Acto knife to cut around
each image by hand.
Use a Punch Tool: For circle images, a paper punch that matches the diameter of your image (e.g., 1.5”, 2”, etc.) makes cutting super quick and clean.
Edible image care instructions:
Store your edible images in an airtight container or sealed plastic bag, safely tucked away from sunlight and heat. Make sure your icing sheets stay sealed until you are ready to use them, so they remain fresh and vibrant. Never refrigerate or freeze your sheets or images. When kept at room temperature in a sealed bag, your sheets can stay picture-perfect for up to 6 months.

Edible Images// Tips & Tricks
TIPS
Preparing Edible Images:
Keep your edible image sheet sealed in its plastic bag until you’re ready to use it. About 20 minutes before application, remove it from the bag to let it dry slightly—this helps it release more easily from the backing sheet. The icing should peel off smoothly—do not force it. If it's sticking to the backing sheet, it’s likely due to room temperature or humidity. Let it sit a bit longer or move to a drier environment.
How to Place the Images on Your Treats:
Edible Glue: Apply a very small amount of edible glue (any kind works) to the back of the image to attach it to chocolate, fondant, or other dry surfaces. Do not use water—this will cause the colors to run.
With Chocolate: You can also place the image directly onto melted chocolate before it fully sets—this will help it adhere naturally without glue.
Buttercream: Gently place the image directly on top. No glue needed if the surface is slightly tacky.
Be Gentle: Avoid touching the front of the image with wet hands—moisture will smear the ink.
Stack Carefully: When storing or stacking sheets, make sure all images are facing the same direction. If not, they may stick together.
Removing Your Edible Image from the Backing Sheet: Edible icing sheets can absorb moisture from the air, especially in humid conditions, making them harder to peel. This is common during warmer months.
If the image isn’t peeling easily, place the sheet in an air-conditioned room; this helps speed up the drying process. Check it every 30 minutes.
Do not leave it overnight or let it dry out completely; this can cause the icing to become brittle and crack.

Melting Chocolate // Tips & Tricks
MELTING CHOCOLATE:
MICROWAVE: Heat for 45 seconds at 50% power, stir, then continue at 45-second intervals on 50% power, stirring each time until melted.
DOUBLE BOILER: Bring water to a simmer. Remove from heat. Place the top pan with chocolate on the water. Stir occasionally until melted.
NOTE: Chocolate melts at a low temperature (around body temperature). The hotter it gets, the thicker it becomes until it burns.
Color Chocolate doesn’t melt as thin as regular chocolate but will still pour. To thin chocolate, use Paramount Crystals (about 1 tablespoon per pound).
MOLDING CHOCOLATE:
Spoon the melted chocolate into a mold. Add a sucker stick if needed. Tap to smooth the chocolate. Chill in the refrigerator or freezer until set, usually about 3-5 minutes in the freezer.
Remove the mold from the fridge or freezer. Turn it over and tap onto the working surface. If the candy doesn't fall out, return the mold to the fridge or freezer for 1-2 minutes more.
Disclaimers
Please note that Merckens’ chocolate coatings, Peter's Caramel, and Rice Krispies Treats may melt during shipping due to temperature fluctuations or exposure to sunlight. Shipping is at your own risk, and we cannot guarantee these items will arrive in perfect condition. However, melting does not affect the quality, and the chocolate or caramel can be re-melted and used as intended. Rice Krispies can be molded and shaped as needed.
